Dubstep Democracy has been doing interviews with our favorite producers for quite a while now. We feel that some of our bigger interviews got overlooked because those specific artists weren't huge at the time of the interviews.
So here is a list of some of our most proud interviews for you to look back at and learn more about.
This time we catch up with the Drumstep hero's of Terravita!!! Read on to find out a little more...
--------------------------------
1. So how did Terravita form? Tell us about how you guys started.
Chris and Matt started working together in the early 2000s, then Jon was added midway through the 2000s....then we were Terravita. We have been around a while.
2. Do you like the bass music scene in Boston? how does it compare to other places you've played?
Yes Boston is great. Everyone goes nuts. Almost all of the shows are on weekdays and end around 1am though due to licensing issues with the city. As crazy as Boston is, it is not fair to compare it to anywhere that can be open past 2 am with an 18+ drinking age. If we had that here the city may implode.
3. What was it about Drumstep that seemed to appeal to you more than Dubstep?
Its at 174 bpm like drum & bass, which is what Terravita made originally.
4. What software are you using to create your tunes?
We use Cubase and Izotope Ozone and Alloy.
5. Best show you guys have played so far...
Its really hard to name one because they have all been great. We are of course partial to our home town crowd so we will have to go with any one of our Boston shows.
6. A question for all of you... Which artist/musician, dead or alive, would you give anything to see live?
Chris & Jon - Michael Jackson or Jimmy Hendrix
Matt - Nirvana
7. Top 5 tracks to play at the moment...
1) Terravita - Are You Ready For Me
2) Terravita - Gangsta Don't Dance
3) Terravita - Up in the Club
4) Terravita - Freak out
5) Cali Swag District - Teach me How To Dougie (Terravita remix)
8. When can we expect to see you in Australia?
We are on tour in Australia for our house act, Hot Pink Delorean, in September.....hopefully we get some Terravita dates off of that while we are over.
9. Vinyl or CD?
Uncompressed WAV format
10. And finally... Whats next for Terravita?
We have an EP coming on Rottun Recordings and a bunch of collabs with some of the biggest names in bass music!!!! Watch http://facebook.com/terravitabass for details
