A while ago we did an interview with Downlink where he told us, being a bit hush hush, about a new label that he was starting.
He has also kept something else very quiet until just recently... He has teamed up with fellow Dubstep heavyweight Excision and the former drummer from Pendulum KJ Sawka to create a bass music live band called Destroid
So last week I spoke to Downlink and he agreed to fill us in with the first official release "The Launch" on his label Uplink Audio.
Here's what he had to say:
As some people may have heard, I've been talking about starting my own record label for quite some time now. The last year ended up being quite a busy one for me with a steady touring schedule and with the kickoff of the Destroid project. As it turns out, being an alien bass robot takes a lot of hard work and time. Let's just say I had a lot on my plate and had to put the label idea on hold…
Over the past summer I finally found myself with a bit of spare time, and with the help of my good friend and label manager Garret, we were able to bring this whole record label project into reality.
UPLINK AUDIO is now upon you...

We are very happy with the initial response we've been getting from people and to see the release sitting now at #5 in the US Dance album charts on iTunes is just incredible.
With Uplink Audio we hope to build a strong brand and identity. We're not trying to represent just one style, rather we will be a place to find quality bass music with a heavy bias on rocking dance floors. We will not only be releasing music from myself but from a host of others as the label grows and evolves. I'm looking forward to all of the amazing stuff we have in store for you guys. Watch this space!!!
